How to edit supported text in a PDF
Choose a text line and review the offered editing mode. ORDO rewrites existing text only when it can do so safely. When source text or fonts are unsupported, it says so rather than silently guessing.

Open Edit PDFWhy a PDF line may be unreadable
A PDF can draw a character without declaring enough information to read it reliably. Missing or inconsistent source mappings may produce unknown characters or warnings. Reading a line is also different from being able to rewrite it.
Choose the right editing mode
- Supported existing text can be rewritten in the PDF.
- A cover-and-retype fallback changes the appearance but retains the original underneath.
- Use Redact for sensitive content; a cover is not removal.
- Scanned pages have no editable text layer; OCR is not included.
Review source uncertainty
When ORDO cannot read the full source line, inspect the original before entering replacement text. Do not treat a text declaration or validation badge as proof of visual authenticity.
Steps in ORDO
- Open Edit PDF and choose your file.
- Choose Edit text and inspect the line status.
- Make a supported edit, or use the clearly labelled fallback.
- Review the export report and download a new copy.
Is my file uploaded?
No. This tool runs inside your browser on this device. ORDO's servers never receive the file, and the page's security policy blocks it from sending file data anywhere.
PrivacyLimits worth knowing
- Existing paragraphs do not reflow.
- The editor font and language writing capabilities are limited; consult the language matrix.
- Existing text inside Form objects is not editable.
- Physical phones, IME/stylus input and Acrobat/Foxit compatibility are not fully verified.
